EDRM Consultancy

At Legastat we fully understand and support the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and can provide a full range of forensic, processing and review services. However, we are also able to advise in the area of “Information Management” – in other words, how to get your house in order so as to minimise the amount of time and money that needs to be spent on Electronic Disclosure.

We deliver this service with our partners, Oyster IMS, who have many years of Information Management advisory experience

The service involves:

  • A review of your existing information management landscape looking at the people, process and technology currently in use – this would take the form of an Information Audit with interviews with key members of staff and surveys to establish current practice
  • Creation of a risk register to highlight potential problem areas in the event of an electronic disclosure or other document production requirement
  • Design of a new Information Management environment – again covering people, process and technology
  • Implementation and training as required

Implementing best-practice Information Management allows you to respond to document production requests in a timely, efficient manner and allows you to develop a repeatable process to ensure that the benefit is maximised.

What is EDRM?

Launched in May 2005, the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project was created to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery market - a problem identified in the 2003 and 2004 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery surveys as a major concern for vendors and consumers alike. The completed reference model provides a common, flexible and extensible framework for the development, selection, evaluation and use of electronic discovery products and services. The completed model was placed in the public domain in May 2006.
